What can we learn by removing gravity from the equation?
By eliminating gravity, cells, molecules, protein crystals, microbes, etc. behave in very different ways. This presents opportunities to explore new and potentially game-changing discoveries in areas such as human tissue regeneration, drug development, treatments for diseases such as cancer and other life threatening and chronic conditions, as well as energy and novel materials.
Exomedicine
Kentucky Space and its partner NanoRacks have launched an exciting new initiative into Exomedicine, defined as the study of disease mitigation and health enhancement in space. This initiative is supported by an interdisciplinary team of top scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs. The first experiments are currently orbiting on the space station.
A Unique Opportunity for Research
The NanoRacks’ platform was born out of a need for repeatable/affordable research on the International Space Station (ISS). The NanoRacks’ platform and “CubeLabTM ” research module were jointly developed by NanoRacks and Kentucky Space and are based on the proven CubeSat form-factor. By providing a standardized platform and open architecture for the experimental modules, we plan to shrink the development cycle and cost for research and development, which may lead to whole new products and markets.

Because of a recent NASA Space Act Agreement with our partner NanoRacks, we offer regular, repeatable missions on ISS, including return payloads. The NanoRacks/Kentucky Space venture provides design and integration services tailored to unique needs of the experiment or project.
